If you know me well personally then you know my family has a love for Elvis Presley, like a big love for him! This is how it all came about.......
My parent's were big Elvis fans, they went to his concerts, collected Elvis memorabilia and my mom even told me once when she worked at Hopkins she was in the room and got to hold his liver!! Gross but still cool! I have sister's, twins, born on my dad's birthday, August 16, 1977, this also happened to be the day Elvis died, so naturally they named my one sister is named "Lisa Marie."
Since my sister's and I are 6 years apart, I was the one who got stuck going on summer vacations with my parents. Somehow my father managed to always want to travel down South and somehow, four times to be exact, we ended up at Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley.
There's an event hosted every year in Baltimore, called night of 100 Elvis', my parent's went every year, this is where my mom made friends with all the Elvis impersonators. For my sister's 30th birthday and my father's 58th my mom threw a huge party and of course the Elvis impersonators there serenading the guests!
In 2008, six months later my mom passed away from Breast Cancer. Her service was one you can't forget, tons of people came to pay their last respect, and of course........Elvis!
In 2012 our lives completely changed again, except this time for good reasons.....Justino Presley (my nephew) was born! Even though he's not my child, and I act like and think he is, I knew I wanted him to have something in his name that had to do with honoring and remembering my mom. So you are welcome Justino Presley, your middle name comes from your truly!
Unfortunately my mom did not get to see me start my business, but I know she sees how much it's evolved in the last few years and hopefully she is proud. House of Presley is a name that was chosen from the best gift I have ever received and one amazing mom that I will always hold close to my heart.........even if she is up there doing the Jailhouse Rock!
